Stratford Summer Music 2017 For the third year, the 2017 Vocal Academy at Stratford Summer Music will offer intensive training in professional preparation (opera, oratorio, art song) and in performance skills for up to eight graduate, post-graduate and early professional-level singers and for two pianists pursuing a career in vocal accompaniment. Participants will receive daily individual sessions with the internationally renowned Faculty and will take part in master classes which will be open to the public. The program will culminate in a public performance by Faculty and participants.

The Walking the Boundaries, Bridging the Gaps: International Community Music Conference will be taking place at Laurier University from May 11 to 13, 2017.

Call for Submissions – Extended Deadline

We’re happy to share that the submission deadline has been extended by a few days.

Conference themes will deal with boundaries and margins and how challenges and gaps might be bridged through participatory music making. Paper presentations, narratives or other formats describing practices in community music are welcome. Additional details are available on the Faculty of Music website.

Audition details for the 2017 Ontario Youth Choir

The Ontario Youth Choir, founded by Choirs Ontario in 1971, provides a unique opportunity for young singers from across Ontario to work with some of Canada’s outstanding choral leaders. Every summer 40 talented young singers audition to take part in an exciting programme of rehearsals, masterclasses and voice lessons. The choristers are challenged with the finest choral repertoire while enjoying the camaraderie of talented colleagues.
