VIVA! is a diverse and vibrant community of educators and singers dedicated to innovative choral music education and an excellent standard of performance. At the forefront of our organization is a commitment to equity, and we are proud to offer unique formal programs in Inclusion through our TD Inclusion Program, and Leadership and Mentoring of aspiring educators. Members of our administrative and educational team work closely together to support our singers, ages 4 through adults.
Founded in 2000, VIVA! Youth Singers has grown from two to six choirs at present. Recognized for beautiful singing and the opportunity for creation/composition opportunities, VIVA’s singers thrive by building a sense of community and friendship while fostering strong skills through individual vocal coaching, theory instruction, and touring opportunities.
The Mary and John Sidgwick Scholarship Program, named in honour of the founders of the Orpheus Choir, was created in 1988‐89 as part of the Choir’s 25th anniversary celebration.
The intent of the Sidgwick Scholars program is to provide funds for young vocal students to become part of the Orpheus Choir, to share their talents with the Choir, while at the same time receiving the benefits of exposure to the Choir’s activities and broadening their solo experience and musical training.
Join young singers from across North America in this unique and immersive learning experience. Leading professionals and music educators provide daily lessons and coaching, as well as classes in acting, movement, diction, and musicianship skills. Students are encouraged to apply for one or both camps.
In an intensive, yet supportive, environment, students will experience life in a Musical School Program, further enhancing their studies with their teacher.
