The 24th edition of the Casalmaggiore International Festival will be held July 6 – 26, 2020. The program takes place in magnificently restored 17th and 18th century buildings, including a classical Italian style opera house, two concert halls, numerous practice and teaching studios and modernized living quarters.
AEDO, the Accademia Europea Dell’Opera, is a uniquely focused European opera experience that takes place in Lucca, Italy and was created in collaboration between Western University Canada, Centro Studi Opera Omnia Luigi Boccherini, is centered on the preparation, creation, and performance of full operatic roles.
Join young singers from across North America in this unique and immersive learning experience. Leading professionals and music educators provide daily lessons and coaching, as well as classes in acting, movement, diction, and musicianship skills. Students are encouraged to apply for one or both sessions.
In an intensive, yet supportive, environment, students will experience life in a Musical School Program, further enhancing their studies with their teacher.
COSI is offering a two-week, non-performance training program, July 1-15. No audition video is necessary and the application deadline has been extended to Monday, Feb. 18th.

The Laurier Conservatory is thrilled to announce that registration is now open for the very first WLU Music Theatre Academy. This three-week professional training program is designed for classically-trained singers who want to hone their skills in acting, dance and belt/mix vocalization.
Successful applicants will attend classes Monday through Friday in acting improvisation and text, Alexander Technique, Feldenkreis and appropriate dance styles. Regular lessons, coachings and master classes with crossover voice teachers will develop healthy belt/mix techniques. Instructors will join us from The Stratford Festival, Sheridan College, WLU’s Faculty of Music, and elsewhere.
