Rachelle Courtney is a voice educator, adjudicator, and professional singer based in London, Ontario. She is the owner of The Voice Studio London, where she has maintained an independent studio since 2009, teaching singers across musical theatre, jazz, contemporary commercial music, and classical voice. Her teaching emphasizes effective vocal technique, musicianship, stylistic awareness, and the development of confident, expressive performers.

Rachelle holds a Master of Music in Music Education from Western University, a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Thompson Rivers University, and a Diploma of Music with Honours in Vocal Jazz Performance from Humber College. She has also completed a Diploma of Musical Theatre Performance from Randolph College for the Performing Arts, with formal study in scene study, voice and text, movement, improvisation, character analysis, and acting through song.

As an educator, Rachelle has prepared students for hundreds of examinations, auditions, festivals, and post-secondary applications. Her students have received honours, scholarships, provincial-level distinctions, and professional opportunities in musical theatre, film, television, and voice acting, including work with organizations such as Stratford Festival, The Grand Theatre, Neptune Theatre, and Drayton Entertainment. She is passionate about helping singers develop their unique artistic voices while building the technical, musical, and performance skills needed for diverse career pathways.

Rachelle maintains an active performance career as a jazz and contemporary singer and was recently recognized as Jazz Vocalist of the Year by the Forest City London Music Awards. Her professional experience includes  performances at venues such as The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar and the Toronto Jazz Festival, international contracts with Holland America Line and Celebrity Cruises, recording projects, and ongoing work as a performing and recording artist. Her performance background informs her teaching practice and provides students with practical insight into professional performance.

Rachelle serves on the Conservatory Canada Advisory Committee, contributing to the revision of the Contemporary Voice Syllabus. She is also an active adjudicator for music festivals and professional organizations, including the Ontario Music Festivals Association and the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association and is committed to advancing contemporary voice pedagogy, advocating for diverse and evolving approaches to voice education, and supporting collaboration within the voice teaching community.
