A panel of voice instructors from various universities and colleges in southern Ontario will discuss what is expected for students who want to audition for voice or musical theatre in their post-secondary programs. The panel includes Kimberly Barber (Wilfrid Laurier University), Kyle Blair (St. Lawrence College), Breanne Dietrich (Sheridan College), Torin Chiles (Western University), Monica Whicher(University of Toronto). - Sunday, November 3 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Artist-Centred Adjudication in Popular Styles with Amanda Kind. This session will focus on adjudicating popular styles from an artist development and style-focused lens. Amanda Kind will show videos of kids/teens singing pop songs and explain options on how to adjudicate them and how to offer feedback to produce specific tonal and stylistic results. She will discuss “appropriate” repertoire, resources for backtracks, and more.
