Soprano Mei Lee is a performing artist, voice teacher, and an educator of the Alexander Technique.  She holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of Toronto and Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance from Western University.  A creative and versatile performer in operas, oratorios, concerts and recitals, Dr. Lee has performed and premiered new works in Canada and abroad with various opera companies, orchestras, and festivals.  
 
In addition to her performing career, Dr. Lee maintains an active teaching practice of both voice and Alexander Technique in Toronto and online.  Her integrated teaching approach of these two disciplines has had a meaningful and transformative impact on her students’ personal and vocal/musical development, and many of them have gone on to study at prominent post-secondary music institutions and win vocal competitions.  A frequent presenter of workshops and masterclasses to Canadian and international music programs, Dr. Lee is devoted to promoting musician’s psychophysical wellbeing and education, guiding and empowering young musicians in the journey of their self-discovery.
 
Dr. Mei Lee is a proud NATS and NATS Ontario member since 2004.  She served on the Chapter’s Executive as President from 2020 to 2024, dedicating her service to building a diverse, inclusive, and supportive community for singers and voice educators in Ontario and beyond.  She is grateful to and humbled by all who served alongside of her, whose committed teamwork brought success to the organization’s activities and events, making NATS Ontario one of the largest and strongest Chapters of NATS.  Mei has now transitioned into the role of Past President and member of the Advisory Council, offering strategic advice to the Board of directors and its committees and to the membership at large.
